What is ReportedIP?
ReportedIP is an IP reputation and threat intelligence service. We collect, analyze, and share data about malicious IP addresses to help website owners protect their sites from attacks, spam, and other threats. Our community-driven approach means that reports from multiple sources strengthen the accuracy of our threat assessments.
How do I register?
Registration is simple and takes just a few steps:
- Visit the Register page and fill in your details (username, name, email, password).
- Accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Check your email for an activation link.
- Click the activation link to verify your email address.
- Log in with your credentials and access your Dashboard.
Important: You must verify your email address before you can log in. Check your spam folder if you don’t receive the activation email within a few minutes.
What is the Free plan?
Every new user starts with the Free plan, which includes:
- 1,000 IP checks per day — Query our database to check the reputation of any IP address.
- 50 IP reports per day — Report malicious IP addresses to our community database.
- 1 API key — Access our REST API for automated checks and reports.
- Dashboard access — Monitor your API usage and activity logs.
What service tiers are available?
ReportedIP offers several tiers to match your needs:

How do I upgrade my plan?
Plan upgrades are currently handled on a case-by-case basis. To request an upgrade, please send an email to [email protected] with your username and desired tier. We will review your request and get back to you promptly.
What is an API Key and how do I create one?
An API key is a unique identifier that authenticates your requests to the ReportedIP API. To create one:
- Log in to your account and go to the Dashboard.
- Find the “API Keys” section.
- Click “Generate New Key” and give it a descriptive name.
- Copy and securely store your API key — it will only be shown once.
Use your API key in the X-API-Key header when making requests to our REST API endpoints.
How do I delete my account?
In compliance with GDPR, you can request deletion of your account and all associated data. Visit your Account Settings to export or delete your data. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How does the IP reputation scoring work?
Our confidence score (0-100%) is calculated based on multiple factors:
- Number of reports — More reports increase the score.
- Reporter diversity — Reports from different sources carry more weight.
- Recency — Recent reports have greater impact than older ones.
- Severity — The type of threat reported affects the score.
- Honeypot data — Automated honeypot reports provide additional confidence.
Scores decay over time if no new reports are received, reflecting that IP addresses can change ownership or behavior.
